Hmm, did I forgot to install something or do I have to upgrade another package before updating sendmail ?
Looks like you need to update a little package called libc (C library files). I installed 8.9.* version of sendmail which still enabled relaying by default, even though the documentation said differently. I upgraded the node to sendmail 8.10.* beta and relaying is now denied by default, however EXPN and VRFY are enabled by default still. Personally I would recommend you install such a tool from source instead of RPM.
Okay, I know, some of you will say "What does this have to do with security", but I tried to update in order to to close relaying, to fix some DoS-attacks, and so on. Is this security-related enough ? Thanks :-))
Has anyone seen octo(pus).c? Appears to open as many sendmail sockets as it can..
Thanks in advance for your help.
Oh, please no RTFM-replies. If I knew where to look, I would ! :-)
Hope this helps. - -- ..Yashy "...and scantily clad females, of course. Who cares if it's below zero outside."
