I think in the past I have volunteered to help out with DNS and mirroring. (not specifically, just because I ran into issues related to those two areas). I am happy to help out with admin, setup, troubleshooting - my specialties are network, dns, xen, apache, lvm, iscsi.
Helping out is nice and we need that, but providing help needs some 'owner' of the problem. The areas I have talked about are ownerless. No one will be able to tell you what to help with.
Someone needs to take charge, find out what needs to be done and organize the collaboration. Only then people can join in and start to help.
Hi Henne it's probably the worst time of the year to start this discussion, everyone is off on summer hols. Maybe it would be better restart it towards end of August? We could start by lining up the areas, current status and what we think/imagine needs to happen. It made me curious when I saw "ongoing Infrastructure issues" mentioned back in May, as well as "immediate problems with some part of the infrastructure" from the face2face meeting in March. It just wasn't at all clear what the areas and issues were, except the wiki which was mentioned explicitly. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
