All, I've got a few fileservers running 11.4 and hope to keep them at 11.4 via the evergreen project. Evergreen has basically decided to update to the 3.0 kernel in order to leverage the fact that it is a long term support kernel. (At least 2 years from Jan 2012). A 11.4 version of the 3.0 kernel is available now: see http://lists.rosenauer.org/pipermail/evergreen/2012-March/000692.html I propose that this kernel get tested by the opensuse community, then released as part of the normal opensuse security update process. I'm not saying to do this in the next week or two, but in the next month or two would be fantastic. I assume this would actually reduce the support load on the opensuse kernel support guys., since they are in general already supporting 3.0 for SLE 11 SP2.
