Hi all, My name is Gaurav Sood, and I am a Third Year computer Science Engineering student at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, India. I was introduced to openSUSE around a year ago and have been a user since. It has been my dream of contributing towards openSUSE since some time, and have been aiming to contribute via Summer of Code. I took up minor projects, basically for learning and to enhance knowledge of various technologies. I am familiar with PHP, C, C++, Java and Python, as well as knowledge of databases using PostgreSQL and MySQL. For the past 6 months or so, I have been preferring Python as the preferred language for development, due to its simplicity and ease of development. I have also tried my hand at development for GNOME3, using Python. I have read the ideas for GSoC 12' under openSUSE. I was browsing for ideas relating to GNOME or Python, until I stumbled upon Popcorn. It interested me mainly because it was coded in Python and that it involved lots of learning in the process of development. Since then, I have been in constant touch with the mentor, Ionuț Arțăriși, who has been of help in my understanding of the project. I have also written some exercise classes, for better understanding of the project. Thanks all for your patient reading.
