Especially in the case of Tumbleweed. Example for the default search engine of the build service: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=zypper&baseproject=openSUSE%3ATumb... a search for zypper gives no hits for Tumbleweed.
Sure, that's because there are no pages that include both of them, right?

I do not know if you understood my description. 1.1 You could also give the search engine on software.opensuse.org the two keywords zypper Tumbleweed and so it would probably search for (the hole/exact words) "zypper" AND "Tumbleweed" -> http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=zypper+Tumbleweed&baseproject=ALL 1.2 But I was referring to the following procedure: a) Go to http://software.opensuse.org/ b) Select in the 'radio button'/choosing menu left of the [Search] button [openSUSE Tumbleweed] instead of [All Distributions] or [openSUSE 11.4] c) Enter the word zypper in the search line d) click on search -> http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=zypper&baseproject=openSUSE%3ATumb... <=> http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=zypper&baseproject=openSUSE%3ATumb... => result=no hits 1.3 Example firefox in/for Tumbleweed: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=firefox&baseproject=openSUSE%3ATum... => result: no hits 1.4 Example kernel-default in/for Tumbleweed: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=kernel-default&baseproject=openSUS... => Search Results: 0 collections and 15 binaries from 7 source packages: kernel-default-2.6.38-18.1.i586.rpm , [....] 1.5 Example kernel-default in/for 11.4: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=kernel-default&baseproject=openSUS... => Search Results: 0 collections and 66 binaries from 30 source packages - i586 kernel-default-2.6.38-18.1.i586.rpm openSUSE:Tumbleweed/standard - nosrc kernel-default-2.6.38-18.1.nosrc.rpm openSUSE:Tumbleweed/standard - x86_64 kernel-default-2.6.38-18.1.x86_64.rpm openSUSE:Tumbleweed/standard - i586 kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.2.2.i586.rpm openSUSE:11.4/standard - nosrc kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.2.2.nosrc.rpm openSUSE:11.4/standard - x86_64 kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.2.2.x86_64.rpm openSUSE:11.4/standard - i586 kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.5.1.i586.rpm openSUSE:Tools:Unstable/openSUSE_11.4 - nosrc kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.5.1.nosrc.rpm openSUSE:Tools:Unstable/openSUSE_11.4 - x86_64 kernel-default-2.6.37.1-1.5.1.x86_64.rpm openSUSE:Tools:Unstable/openSUSE_11.4 2.
Maybe a search for a package in Tumbleweed could include the actual stable release (now 11.4) - just with an lower/ posterior priority (so that any packages that are already in Tumbleweed would appear first?).
I don't understand, what specifically do you want here?
2.1 In cases like 1.2 the result should be... 2.1.1 ...for Tumbleweed first: the actual stable/default version/packages of zypper/<package> in Tumbleweed. following: the other versions/packages that may fit. 2.1.2 ...for the not-rolling releases (e. g.: openSUSE 11.4): first: the actual stable version of zypper/<package> in Updates. second: the default version of zypper/<package> in oss/non-oss like it was in the released version/Goldmaster. following: other versions (probably stabler versions/packages from trustworthier repostiories before other) without any Tumbleweed packages (because this ended and most probably will continue to end in users with mixed repository list and messed up systems) 3. And I wonder how that search setting [openSUSE Tumbleweed] will correspond with the setting in the openSUSE Build Service (OBS) if some choose [openSUSE Tumbleweed] as an target to build against. Will the packages that not appear in the search for packages for/in Thumbleweed also not be regarded in the OBS to build against Thumbleweed? Or is there a different setting that includes the 11.4 packages that are not jet newer in Thumbleweed?
