After reading the strategy thread I thought it would be best to come up with an alternative strategy proposal, as this better expresses what I would like to see for openSUSE in the future than discussing all the details of the other proposals. It's somehow based on the other proposals, but tries to be not as limited. It's also not meant to introduce any brand new ideas, but more build on top of what already is there in the community. I see a LOT of similarities with the Derivatives strategy. Are you sure this couldn't have waited until Thursday when you'd have produced a list of comments to that strategy? Otherwise nice job and I think we can come up with a nice merge of your and Derivatives strategy!
I guess I don't see as much similarities with the Derivatives as you do ;-)
It's not completely different, that's right, but it's also not completely
different to the other strategies. I couldn't think of a way to express what I
wanted to say as comments to the Derivatives strategy (and it probably would
have been a lot more text), so I decided to not wait, but sent it as an
alternative proposal.
