That's an easy one: because that's how, historically the release
after the release of 11.0 has been called. ;-)

Seriously, if we (the openSUSE community) want to change how we
call those openSUSE releases, why not?


I vote for using the names of fish, alphabetically: anemone fish,
barracuda, clownfish, dolphin, emperor fish, filefish, guitarfish...
you get the point.</tongue location="in cheek">

(Yes, there are two mistakes in the list above; submit your guesses
by private mail in case you are interested.)

You mean, for example, that a dolphin is not a fish, but a mammal? :)
