In this specific case, that means supporting one competitor. Which
might affect how people think of the issue.

I understand but isn't this fact then "just" another moral question?
Something along the lines of:

Do we want to hamper with our competition?

It's probably trickier to answer than the other one because we have not
established a behavior pattern already. My personal stance on this would
be: No we don't. And specifically for this case: Ubuntu/Canonical is not
our competition, they are part of the worldwide Free and Open Source
community we mingle with. They are brothers and sisters. If they make a
buck out of a music store I'm happy for them!
