Hi listmates,
There was an "unofficial(?)" meeting about upcoming 'openSUSE Community Week' yesterday. After ad hoc conversation in -project I added our ideas and so on http://en.opensuse.org/CommunityWeek
Please have a look, think about it, add or edit stuff.
There is one thing I want to confirm. When do you plan to have the openSUSE Community Week ? IIRC, there's no official bulletin on the date yet, but I read somewhere - sorry, I don't remember exactly where - that the openSUSE Community Week will begin at Monday 20th April. Or, isn't the date defined yet ? If my memory is correct and the 'Week' will begin at 20th this month, we don't have that much time left. And, there was a Weekly News Team meeting last Saturday and we discussed what we can do for the 'Week'. http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-marketing/2009-04/msg00008.html We set up to make a 'Special Edition' for the 'Week', but, in order to do so, we want all the infos about the 'Week' - especially, when, where and what will be going on, and where we can find the report or archive - to be concentrated in the Wiki page.
Countdown banner for openSUSE Comminity Week
How about creating a countdown banner for openSUSE Comminity Week as we did for the release of 11.1. http://counter.opensuse.org/11.1/small.en.png I don't know exactly how I can create such a banner, but IIRC, Pascal created the one for the release of 11.1. If we have such a countdown banner, don't you think we can spread the word all over the web with it ?
@Pascal I remember you worked on preparing counter.o.o for the release of 11.1. http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-marketing/2008-10/msg00043.html Can we create a new counter banner or image for the 'Week' and put it somewhere on counter.o.o ?
Community "theme" or "slogan" for 11.2 contest
As I posted to -marketing list in past times, how about organizing the contest for 'Community "theme" or "slogan" for 11.2' during the openSUSE Community week ?
http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-marketing/2009-02/msg000 10.html
Although we don't have much time, I think we need some more discussion about this concept. Which list is better to discuss about this hereafter, -project or -marketing ?
