i reopen the bug just to comment further? (2) do i simply post
additional comments to the closed bug? is anyone still paying
attention to it? (3) do i email the developer directly?
i can personally state that it's sometimes confusing, and sometimes
choosing one gets ... er ... let's say less than "optimal" response.
good policy, i believe. one that works only if practiced by all
parties concerned ...
just an observation -- even in this thread, _inviting_ the discussion,
it really does tend to sound like "users vs developers", doesn't it.
certainly not a "one project for all" vibe ...

If a developer does that to me i ask why in the bug. I don't reopen it
and try to explain why this specific bug is so important or anything i
simply ask why he closed it in this fashion. Most times you will get an
honest answer.

In general i try to be as trusting as i can be and talk to people :)
