The opensuse-education project very much needs the SLE build service
tree to add packages to the edu-cd, if for any reason the 10.1 tree is
needed to make these packages and then move them to the SLE portion of
our disk we would be severely disabled. If, as other people have
pointed out, the SLE doesn't always contain needed components that are
available in 10.1 then as long as SLE 10 is "handicapped" in this way,
the build service should continue to support building packages for 10.1.
I know I have used other peoples packages in the 10.1 BS tree in this
way. I have also used the 10.1 repo as a source under SLED 10 for a few
things.
My answer is, anything that makes it possible to use SLE more
effectively should remain available.
