Everyone,

can we please get back to the thread topic:

Does 'end of life' (resp. end of support) for a distribution have to
result in its removal from the openSUSE build service ?

From the feedback on opensuse-buildservice, I have the impression that

most participant want a 'freeze' and not a 'remove'.

Comments ?
Yes!
Although i really understand Adrian's point of view, too. Lets have a look at
other projects:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ ,
ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/i386/
The old images are still _available_ but marked as "old" and "unsupported".

I would really propose to leave 10.1 in the BS for some time, but move it to
e.g. discontinued: . Also on ftp (repo + update) . So people can softly
migrate if needed - but notice it because of changed ftp-space.
E.g. what about a popup for YOU (of 10.1) displaying the EOL-Annoucement and
propose an update-path after install of latest updates.

Best regards
Jan-Simon
