Rebuilding newer versions for older distributions is in a way a security
update service. One might need to update his config files or get used to
a slightly different behavior, but it plugs security holes. E.g. for
someone using a 10.0 at home for web broswing and reading mail with
Firefox and Thunderbird, Wolfgang's mozilla project might be a good
enough update service. Better than nothing at least.
So there are volunteers already :), they don't cover the whole code base
of course...

the buildservice could be used by community members to provide
security update services even after we discontinue it.
Just needs some volunteers. ;)
