Actually, I think the communication around opensuse is fragmented now,
and a centralised forum hosted at opensuse.org would only help to reduce
this issue, moving in the same direction news.opensuse.org did. 

Moreover, it doesn't seem to me fragmentation of the information was
considered, at least not when 26 IRC channels and 51 mailing lists were
created, which are objectively impossible to follow even by interested
people.

There was a short discussion on #opensuse-chat, and some users seemed to
be interested in forums synchronised with the mailing lists.
