I'm not sure if I understand correclty what you are proposing? Would you
mind elaborating a bit more on what you think the improvements would be?

The current setup has proven to be quite effective over the last releases.
Following a more general approach to those components is lowering the bar to
actually filing bugs, as you don't have to figure out which package(s) are
effected, in my opinion.
