I prefer the "open and free" suggestion. As another suggestion, I also
prefer the word "everyone" instead of "everybody", as it cuts a syllable
out of a syllable-heavy sentence.

I think it sounds funny because it doesn't have a direct object. I
propose this minor modification:
... the ideals of free software: the freedoms to use, study, modify, and
share software.

Other than those things, I think it's an excellent document. Good job,
