On news servers the administrator can also delete postings. I'm unsure if
that will stop clients from posting again to that same OT thread if they
have a local copy, though.
Although, there was a mail administrator in suse-e some years back, Chris,
who was able to block new postings to a thread he deemed OT. I remember,
we got a bounce message if we tried to reply on a thread once he had told
us to stop because it was OT ;-)
