I own that book and the "Special Edition" is the inclusion of appendices on using the STL. All in all it is a very good book. At this point in time I'm not sure I can recommend it though, as of gcc 3.0 and above there are a lot of changes in the C++ standard and I don't know if that book covers those differences. I know this has been addressed on this list before, but please forgive me for asking again. I could not find the posts. What is a excellent book on C++? I have programmed (minimally) in C++ years ago, and am about to dive in again and want the best reference/tutorial I can find. I am looking at: *"C++ Programming Language Special Edition " by *Bjarne Stroustrup which sounds like a real good one, but I would like to hear others experiences and opinions.
