Printing from a qt application doesn't work

Hello.
I'm using Suse 9.3 with qt-3.3.4 and kdevelop 3.4.0. I'm programming
an application
in which some rtf documents should be printed. If I print a document
nothing happens.
The printer is managed via cups and all other applications are printing well.
I've tested with an example which is shipped with qt and this also won't print.
I have also installed qt-3.3.7 from source in an extra tree and tried
the same application and
there is also no result.
Are there any issues that I don't know about suse 9.3 and qt-3.3.4 or qt-3.3.7?
I'm restricted in using qt and not kde and qt-3.x.
