I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but since I've
seen several threads regarding Macs I thought I'd go ahead and ask. I
apologize if it's not the correct place, this is my first posting. I'm
having some issues getting some Mac OS X 10.2 Tiger machines to recognize
Samba shares. I'm running Samba version 3 and they were able to connect up
until about a month ago. The Mac users tell me they downloaded and installed
an update at the beginning of August and that they keep them very
up-to-date. I've read several forums that indicate it's not working in Mac
OS X 10.2 Tiger and there have been several suggestions to make it work
including clearing the Keychain on the Macs and setting 'encrypt passwords =
yes' in the smb.conf file on the linux machine. I've tried clearing the
keychain and I have all other Windows clients connecting using ecrypted
passwords which would lead me to believe that it should be working fine. Any
help or personal experiences with this are greatly appreciated.
