Although 9.3 does not have a PPC counterpart, most sata controllers are
supported in the kernel, both for i386 & PPC architectures. SuSE 10.x
again supports PPC and is downloadable from the opensuse.org mirrors
now.

So no matter if your motherboard manual mentions Linux or not in regards
to the SATA, it is very likely supported by SuSE.
