BootX (Extension) Problem [solved]

I was about to -- it was the 'last resort' advice
of SuSE Support aswell. However, I thought it
might be wise to report my problem to Benjamin
Herrenschmidt first. After all he made BootX.

His suggestion was to change the filetype of the
BootX Extension from "scri" to "INIT". I used
ResEdit to do this, and guess what: it worked! I
am now able to boot into Linux through the
Extension.
