The only problem was finding the right "Video Settings" for BootX, but as you can only put two crosses in these settings, it isn't very hard to try out.
Let me correct you a little bit. In order to pass correct video settings to the kernel, you need to pass a certain string in the "kernel parameters" line of BootX. The checkboxes merely allow you to disregard these parameters, and pass the default Mac settings from MacOS to Linux, in which case, you will never get any acceleration. So, as a matter of fact, to do things correctly, you should *uncheck* the "No Video Driver" checkbox, and put in the correct kernel parameters. These parameters typically look like: video=atyfb:vmode:10,cmode:16 The type of frame buffer and vmode depend on your video card. The above line is for an ATY Mach64 card (which is not very well supported by current X implementations). There are other frame buffers, like platinumfb, imsttfb (if I'm not mistaken) etc. The vmode reflects resolution and refresh rate. vmode 10, for example, is 800x600 at 60Hz. The cmode is the bit depth you wish the video card to be - 8, 15, 16, 24, or 32bits. There should be a more thorough explanation, probably in SuSE's knowledge base, and if not, you can find it around, maybe in LinuxPPC.
