This is slightly off topic, but since I not a mac person at all (got a 7200/90 from someone), I am not sure if I did something wrong or not. This is probably a stupid question, but shouldn't there be a CD-ROM icon on the desktop when I am in MacOS? I am not very familiar with Mac at all. I had installed PPC 6.4, but recently got 7.3. I just wanted to reinstall using 7.3, but the CD-ROM icon does not show up. I have tried CD1 and CD2, and the CDs from the 6.4 distro, but I do not see the icon. I want to open it so that I can invoke bootx to do the install. The CD-ROM getting found, since I can see it in the "Silverlining" program that shows the SCSI devices. I had even bought another CD-ROM thinking my CD-ROM was bad...but same results. Am I totally missing something here? I had added some hard drives, but removed them thinking that may have caused it, but no. Does the CD-ROM have to be a specific SCSI ID? I wouldn't think so, but you never know. system: pmac 7200/90 MacOS 7.5 thanks, --brett _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
