Hi
I'm trying to install SuSe 7.3 for PPC on an IBM RS/6000 machine. When I boot cd 2 it freezes. I've been trying to make the boot floppy mentioned in the book but the zImage on the CD is to big to fit on one floppy (How stupid is that?).
Can anybody help me?
Can you be more specific? What RS/6000? Where does it freeze? Since the CD is bootable there is no real need for floppies on chrp based machines. However, the kernel gets bigger and bigger each day. Newer kernel.rpms will create a special floppy-install kernel. You can find it here: ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/BETA/deflt/ Use zImage.floppy-install.chrp and ramdisk.floppy-install.gz.
