"depmod -ae" responds "can't open /lib/modules/2.2.18/modules.dep..."
ok
"uname -a" replies with the date and "unknown ppc"
It should look like that: Linux Tangerine 2.4.2 #1 Thu Mar 1 07:30:34 GMT 2001 ppc unknown 2.4.2 is the kernel version in this case. mount CD1, and run "rpm -Uvh /suse/images/k_pmac.rpm" and "depmod -a" This will install the modules for that kernel.
