Hello, I have tried for 2 weeks non stop to get SuSE 7.1 for ppc on my iMac 350 running 256 ram and going by the book, nothing will allow 7.1 to boot on its own. It always expects a reinstall.
Hi, Please describe exactly your steps, what you have done and at what stage failure occur. Did you tried to boot Linux from HFS boot partition, not from CD? Try to install latest 2.4 kernel, then copy kernel image to HFS boot and add or change this in yaboot.conf default = vmlinux-2.4 image = vmlinux-2.4 label = vmlinux-2.4 root = /dev/hda10 append = "" Change "vmlinux-2.4" to your actual kernel image name. PS. Please make sure you have learned nature of Linux booting on new-world Mac. If you do not know this you will not be able to do anything but blind tinkering.
