How do I get more than 8 bit resolution? And how do I save the info I but in sax2? It seems that it is not able to save to the XF86Config file, it is not that I am unable to write in the code, but it should work.

Can someone give me the correct name and spec of my video card I have a Powerbook (bronze) G3 400 (no firewire, but I have DVD) I think it is ATI rage (something) 8 Mb ram that should be able to run 32 but.
This is proably the Lombard. It has a Mach64 chip (look in /proc/fb). sax2 can't help you much, yet. Try it that way: sax2 -af Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and verify two sections: Section "Device" BoardName "blah" BusID "0:16:0" <<<<< Driver "ati" <<<<< Identifier "Device[0]" Option "usefbdev" VendorName "ATI" EndSection Section "Modes" Identifier "Modes[0]" ModeLine "1024x768@60" 65.00 1024 1048 1184 1344 768 771 777 806 EndSection Put "1024x768@60" in the "Screen" section, I guess you have 640x480 in all depths. Try a depth 24 or 15. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
