Hi there, I had a similar issue but I assume that you have backed up everything on the MacOS side - huh!! My advice is start again because if at that level formatting fails, you can't trust anything!! Boot up under MacOS and use Drive setup 1.9.2 or later and format the partitions there and then for Unix and MacOS (A/UX swap and A/UX) Then install a basic MacOS and the yaboot in the linux boot partition. Use video=ofonly option. Then install from CD1 and using yast1, select expert mode so configure and FORMAT each partition Function F4 or F6 (- can't remember...) and proceed with a minimal installation. It should work but SuSE6.4 PPC Installation does appear to be much more fickle than the Intel version Regards, Bruce.

So I did. And what happened? The YaST had frozed when it was formating the disk and when I (force) restarted the Macintosh was imposible to boot (the computer freezes before showing the 'happy Mac', even if I try to boot from a CD...)
....
Any advice before I through all out of the window?

I've read sth. about "Crash After Installing Unformatted ATA Hard Drive" in Apple Tech Info Library:

I'm not sure that it matches your case but maybe it's a hint to get your System to run again. (Crashed fdisk might leave your HD unformatted.)
