After removing the "nofail" option from /etc/fstab: /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SGeneral_UDisk_....General_UDisk_5.00-part1 /boot ext4 defaults,nofail 1 2 the PC boots correctly. Systemd seems to have a problem with the "nofail" option. The emergency mode message suggests to view "journalctl -xb". The journal contains some interesting messages.
The main problem seems to be, that my USB stick which holds /boot on /dev/sdc1 (ext4, /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SGeneral_UDisk_....General_UDisk_5.00-part1) times out during boot since some days. But /boot is correctly mounted and "fsck" shown no error.
Any ideas?
