Greg,
Check on the packaging rules for Python; I did packaged a few things
for Fedora/RedHat and in their world they want people to use the
vendor macros. I'm not sure if in openSUSE/SUSE packaging rules
require the modules to be installed on vendor dirs or if they are to
be installed in the traditional sitelib/sitearch.
Other than that, I guess you have all covered :)

PS: I'm pretty sure there are some people around with far more
knowledge about this to help or correct any atrocity I might say :)

%{python_sitearch} -> which should be used instead of the code you currently have, ex:
- %{python_sitearch}/*.so
Since you have an .so, I'm pretty sure it's a arch dependent package; if it wasn't you had %{python_sitelib} for this. There's also the %{python_sitevendor} and a few others.
Python packaging is kinda easy :)

Thanks both for the confirmation and the nice macro.
