What I would like to do is set up a wiki page with - name of the distribution which provides the 4.9 beta release - scope of the beta release (do you package everything or only part of it) - link to this distribution page where the installation is explained. If no such page, a few explanations on the wiki page.
openSUSE also provides an repository where snapshots of KDE trunk/master are being build for the supported openSUSE distro's (11.4/12.1/Factory). Under normal circumstances we are trying to update this repository on a weekly basis with a new snapshot. However with the release of the Beta we could postpone the creation of a newer snapshot.
