However, for build failures I think an immediate notification is in
order. After all we want factory to build cleanly all the time as much
as possible and not have broken packages for a week or more.

hermes can send immediate mails on that, but this is a neverending storm
of e-mails :(

Well hermes is broken (731591), if we can get a reliable implementation that provides build failure messages I am all for it, even if I get 10 or more day.
