To lower the workload, there is some way to use it only in libraries?
there should be ready to apply patches in fedora and debian, I dont
think it is such a big deal.
However, there might be some painful stuff, like broken configure
scripts that may silently fail and ignore optional dependencies.
In short, failing to compile or link is not a problem.
