Sure, actually you could do it yourself and submit it back.
Just click on the green arrow (the branch symbol) on
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=s3ql&project=filesystems
afterwards you can modify the spec file and create a submit request back
to the filesystems project.
Pascal is usually responsive, but if not someone else in the project can
handle your request as well.
Or pascal may grant you direct write access there...
The package currently defines pbleser as bugowner to bugzilla.novell.com.
We do not have support for other bug trackers yet.
openSUSE:Factory is what the next openSUSE release will become. But right now
it is just a package in the "filesystems" project.
I would just add the repo and install the package :
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/filesystems/
welcome !

Hi,
I am the upstream author of S3QL (http://code.google.com/p/s3ql/). If I
interpret https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=s3ql
correctly, then pbleser (pascal.bleser@xxxxxxxxxxxx) has recently
created an S3QL package for opensuse.
While I am generally quite happy about this, there are a few things that
I would like to have addressed. I tried to mail Pascal about this, but I
did not get a response. Since I'm not sure if he is actually the right
guy to contact, I'm posting this here again. Hopefully someone will be
able to help.
Note that I am not familiar with OpenSUSE at all, so some questions may
sound a bit naive to you :-).
- I would really like the package description to include the
development status as reported on the homepage and in the source
tarball. S3QL is still in beta stage, and I would like to make this
very clear in the package as well.
Would it be possible to change the description?
Sure, actually you could do it yourself and submit it back.

- Where will bugs reported against the package show up? If it's on an
OpenSUSE bug tracker: is there a way to automatically subscribe me?

- Is there something like a stable and unstable version of OpenSUSE? If
so, where will the S3QL package be in? I would not feel very good
about having a beta package in a stable distribution...
openSUSE:Factory is what the next openSUSE release will become. But right now
it is just a package in the "filesystems" project.
- Could you provide some instructions on how to get and install the
OpenSUSE S3QL package for users of the current stable OpenSUSE? Then
I could add these to the S3QL Wiki.
I would just add the repo and install the package :

welcome !
