time intervals between the releases increase over the time ;-)

You're reading more into this than there is.

We have roughly a 8 months release cycle.
10.3 release was 4th of October, 11.0 will be 12th of June (AFAIR) which
is 8 months. This is even less than between 10.2 and 10.3.
