Hi,
does anyone (maybe Dave?) have a plan for feeding the updated packages in multimedia:* repos to Tumbleweed? There are already a few version updates and fixes, and they look like good candidates.
Greg, if we have choices of packages, what is the next step? Will you just link them from openSUSE:Factory in OBS Tumbleweed project?
thanks,
Takashi I haven't yet explored tumbleweed, I believe it's meant to supply updates after release? or am I getting it mixed up with something else. I've been getting settled in at Packman and working with a Fedora packager on a multi distro blender. I've just about finished updating hydrogen which is two versions old and has switched to scons as a result needed a spec file rewrite. Blender's release is next month as well.
As jdd already explained, Tumbleweed is a rolling update. The packages handled there should be regarded as "stable enough", so we don't have to rush if any newer version comes up. For example, the update of basic multimedia libraries such as libvorbis, libsndfile are good for Tumbleweed. Also updates of vorbis-tools or sox would be easily done, too. What package can be in this category? The packages that have been updated since 11.4 (from my memory) are - sox - gstreamer* - vorbis-tools - libsndfile - taglib - libao - alsa-tools - pulseaudio The last two, alsa-tools and pulseaudio, are no version updates and will be done through 11.4-update channel. Others with version updates are good for Tumbleweed. It'd be nice anyone help for filling up the list with things I missed... thanks, Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org
