Firewire support for dvgrab

Hi --
I've been trying to make dvgrab work, but no such luck.
testlibraw produces errors: it finds the ohci1394 card and the request to node 0 works, but not node 1. In addition, the console shows this error message:
ohci1394_0: Physical register received outside of bus reset sequence
I'm running SuSE Linux 7.3 Personal edition with the 2.4.10 kernel. Is that the problem?
And BTW, where is my kernel? It's not in /urs/src where it should be.
