Hi Kay, I faced similar issues. In my case there was an issue with module unloading. I'd suggest to unload the sound modules (network card modules ...) prior to attempting the hibernation (and this will be a try and fail process).
Where do I have to unload the modules? The entry "UNLOAD_MODULES_BEFORE_SUSPEND2DISK" in the "Editor für /etc/sysconfig-Dateien" is marked as depricated. Should I add the modules in /etc/pm/config in SUSPEND_MODULES?
What is astonishing, though, is the fact that you can do a suspend2ram without problems, this is strange, I only know it the other way round'
There is a little problem. After a successful suspend2ram the computer don't switch off after a regular shutdown.
