When I hook it up to our university network (within our department) the dhcp server provides me with an IP address but I cannot access the internet via our firewall which is running openBSD packet filter. In fact, now I have two machines running Suse 10.1 and they peform fine. I can ping outside machines, but I cannot connect any website regardless of the web browser I use. ifconfig looks absolutely fine--it has to be an opensuse 10.2 --packet filter problem because as soon as the packet filter is disable I'm able to do anything I want. Again, I have never had this problem with any other Suse release.
I have seen some reports of this reference on the net, but does anybody know how I can fix this problem?
Apparmor active? Perhaps this tool blocks something? -- i.A.
