26th June – Free Software day, celebratng openSUSE 11.3 RC1 (National Wide Event) 10th – 11th July - Libre Software Meeting 2010 in Bordeaux (World Wide Event) 18th September - Software Freedom Day (World Wide Event)
We have attempted to use an open calendar agendadulibre.org as usual and this time the volunteers are not reactive.
When they publish our announcement, the RSS appears on most Fench speaking LUGs.
Never mind. I am here as Andreas proposed that I talk to you.
This is Jimmy Pierre, I am in the IT industry since 1977. my bio can be found on linkedin et al.
I started with Linux in 1993 and converted to SUSE in 1999. I have been promoting openSUSE since 2004. We have had a lot of difficulties in 2006 and did not give up.
I am standing here to-day for advice, logistics and new ideas for promoting openSUSE.

Jimmy, Welcome to the team! We are always excited to see more people join and help to spread the word about openSUSE as a Project and Community. We have regularly scheduled meetings every two weeks (Our next meeting will be at 15:00 UTC 29-June-2010) That is around 5 p.m. French time I think. We also hold special focus meetings on specific topics because we have so many things on our plates that some items require dedicated times. For example, tomorrow at 12:00 UTC (2 p.m. French Time), we will discuss our status of the marketing plan for the openSUSE Conference which will be in October in Nuremberg, Germany. There's sooo many different things people can do in the Marketing Team from strategy planning to design to promotion, etc. And we're looking for people to take ownership of their chosen areas. What are your interests? How can we work together? Tell us more about your interests. Looking forward to meeting with you.
