Hey!
During Hackweek 3 Andreas Demmer and I made a new frontpage for opensuse.org, which will replace the 3-Box-Page we currently have on http://www.opensuse.org .
It looks awesome! I always liked the idea to have more information on the start page.
The placement of the search box is carefully chosen. It has a optical connection to the three sections but there is enough white-space between the search and the section-chunk to display that they are not siblings. It's in the upper-right where the most people look for a search (it's in these area on all o.o-pages).
:-) As i said to you already: imho it destroys the design and is floating a little bit out of everything. Maybe try to have the search below the 3 boxes. But this is just my personal opinion. -- with kind regards, Martin Lasarsch, Core Services SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nürnberg GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) martin.lasarsch@suse.de - http://www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
