Hi, Well, that is a simple idea and not designed in detail. Assume that a user switch to Fcitx from IBus from a dialog of chameleon-tongue. If fcitx is not installed, chameleon-tongue ask if he wants to install fcitx. To do that, chameleon have to know what IMFs or IMs are available under openSUSE. The list of IMFs and IMs can be packaged within chameleon-tongue. It also can be retrieved from the package manager.
Do you mean that it will help for users to choose the primary IMF at installation? I don't get exactly in which situation you supposed. I'm also interested about this, Could you give me some detail?
That is not my idea. I think chameleon-tongue should allow users to choose IMF and IMs at the first login. Fuminobu Takeyama On 2015/07/20 19:04, Qiang Zhao wrote:
If chameleon-tongue keep some catalog of input methods, then it can help users to install required packages.
It will be a nice feature to me. Mr Fuminobu TAKEYAMA: I'm still interesting on how this feature was designed. What is the method you help users to install required packages? Chameleon-tongue subpackage's dependences, or any other way? Then what about uninstallation? I think it's also a nice feature.

So far, we have a list of packages from locale Recommends tag of each package. Certainly, there is no list of IMFs or IMs. (I don't think we have a package group, either?) From that POV, I would understand such a need... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-m17n+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-m17n+owner@opensuse.org
