In SuSE 9.2, I could view the text file which contains big5 characters using vi on mlterm
However, after I have installed SuSE 9.3 from scrach, I find that I could not view the characters correctly with the same text file in vi anymore. However, when I "cat" the file, the characters could still shown correctly.
Still works for me both in zh_TW.Big5 (same as zh_TW) and in
zh_HK.BIG5-HKSCS (same as zh_HK) locale.
Which locale are you using?
As you say that you can see the contents correctly when using "cat"
but not in "vi", I guess it is a "vi" setup problem.
