Quickest way to do it would be to use iconv... iconv -l will show you the encodings available on your syste,. iconv -f {encoding} -t UTF-8 {inputfile} > {outputfile} iconv functionality also sports an API if you want to use it in code. Cheers Steve. the
UTF-8 ? E.g is there a command line tool that takes as arguments an input file say text in iso-8859-7 (Greek) and outputs the same file converted to UTF-8. If not what is the easiest way to do this?
