hanterm-xf is a modified version of the xterm from XFree86. hanterm-xf uses its own native input system and does not require an X input method server. Although this version of hanterm is based on xterm-172 (which supports UTF-8), it looks like hanterm-xf doesn't support UTF-8. I.e. hanterm-xf is probably only interesting to you if you use the ko_KR.eucKR locale exclusively and find the built in input method useful.
