Currently Xorg triggers a BUG with kernel-xen-3.17.4. The version 2d23787 from Factory is affected. Its appearently already fixed with 3.17.6 12b7bf1 from Kernel:stable.
Is there already a new SR to fix that crash?
I committed 3.18 to master yesterday, so stable should pick it up soon.
I'm afraid that 3.x.0 won't be received well as a "stable" kernel in general.
We already discussed this on this list: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kernel/2014-08/msg00007.html
OK, let's cross fingers.
3.17.6 was already submitted to FACTORY via SR#264502, BTW.
AFAIK, we're feeding Factory automatically from stable anyway.
As Coolo was already concerned, the automated submission is bad. This should have been a submission done by the maintainer. Of course, it doesn't matter whether this was done by a script or not. But, the point is that the submission was the intention -- i.e. don't rely *only* on the automation. This makes me wonder also about the timing of submission. FACTORY offers monthly snapshots, and we've missed sometimes the fixes on snapshots even though they have been already applied to git tree. Maybe we should trigger finer submissions?
