According to the above link openSUSE 11.3 doesn't support the hardware RTL8139.
So, if I install *kernel-3.0* on this version of openSUSE, will that help in getting the `RTL8139` detected?
I don't wish to use the old `openSUSE 10.3` for this hardware. What choices do I have to get this hardware working on the latest version of Suse?
Where do you see on the SDB that it's explicitly not supported? I only see that teh SDB is out of date... RTL-8139 is a pretty generic and old NIC, and has been supported by the kernel for... something like 10 years. Best bet.. boot up openSUSE 12.1 LiveCD and try it. Odds are it'll just work.
