I don't have the answer for both questions, but perhaps Helmut could help us 
here since he seems to know better.

From BNC #448017 comment #13 I would say commit 
eb83bbf57429ab80f49b413e3e44d3b19c3fdc5a is one of the possible patches to 
backport.

Helmut, can you please enlighten us? :-)
