[opensuse-kde3] ksnapshot .png file size

Is there a configuration option somewhere to have KSnapshot save .png images in 8-bit instead of 24-bit? 24-bit is a complete waste for desktop and window screenshots that include no photographs. I know many many moons ago, probably at least a decade, .png file sizes were much much smaller by default. [opensuse-kde3] zypper up - nothing provides pdftools_any needed by kdegraphics3-pdf-3.5.10-lp150.156.1 ??

All, Running zypper up tonight, kdegraphics3-pdf would not update due to the error: Problem: nothing provides pdftools_any needed by kdegraphics3-pdf-3.5.10-lp150.156.1.x86_64 Solution 1: do not install kdegraphics3-pdf-3.5.10-lp150.156.1.x86_64 Solution 2: break kdegraphics3-pdf-3.5.10-lp150.156.1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies I have 3.5.10-lp150.155.1 installed and it is working fine. Did something change? (or did I fix something/build .155.1 and forget what I did?) No reason for the pdftools_any dependency. Can the .spec just be updated? -- David C. [opensuse-kde3] KSVGPlugin need patching/updating

All, While I'm thinking about it, the KSVGPlugin (embedded viewer for konqueror, etc..) needs updating. I'm sure the svg standard defaults changed a few years back and KSVGPlugin doesn't appear to be updated. For example: https://cdn.kastatic.org/ka-perseus-images/7ef5b8448106e5c3dcf94a153131b6e8… It is a simple circuit that is horribly clipped by the KSVGPlugin, e.g. (see ksvgplugin_clipped.png screenshot). The image displays correctly in inkscape (see inkscape.png attached) I'm sure there is more TLC kdegraphics needs in general (the pdftools_any dependency issues, and a fribidi issue if I recall). I'm sure TDE has pached this, but I don't have TDE loaded to compare. Felix - anyone, if you have TDE loaded, save the link above and then mouse-over preview in konqueror (-profile filemanagment) and see if it looks correct there. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
